The Magic Gardens 1020 South Street Philadelphia PA 19147 www.phillymagicgardens.org Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens presents a set of exhibitions this fall in conjunction with the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, beginning with the display of small works by Isaiah Zagar and concluding with the ever-popular Bike Part Art Show. Isaiah Zagar is an award-winning mosaic mural artist whose work can be found on over 100 walls throughout Philadelphia. With influences that include Antonio Gaudi, Clarence Schmidt and Simon Rodia, he is inspired to include the aesthetics and materials of untrained artists as manifestations of fine art. Few events have as many compelling components as Neighborhood BikeWorks’ annual Bike Part Art Show. Inspired by bicycles, art and craft items by over 50 local artists will be on display tocelebrate cycling and showcase creative ways of recycling. Every year since 2003, NBW has invited local artists to dig through its scrap pile and use the bits that inspire them to create works of art. This year’s works by over 50 participating artists include paintings, prints, sculpture, photographs, light fixtures, jewelry, and furniture – all available for sale through a silent auction on October 22nd.
