I am an admirer of nature, always looking around me for the qualities of light and color that stir my spirit. This appreciation inspired me to work for many years directly from life, including painting the landscapes of New Mexico and New York State. These previous experiences provide the foundation for my current work, abstract collages and monotypes, which are based on the concept of landscape. A New York City native, I received a BFA from Smith College and an MFA from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. I also studied at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture and with various independent artists, including David Anderson. Currently a North Carolina resident, I have exhibited and sold my work in various venues in New Mexico and New York.
